Il cuore della Pasqua Cristiana non è il sangue versato da Gesù ma la sua vittoria; si tratta quindi di porpora, non di rosso.
La Porpora era un mantello e un colore indossato dagli imperatori romani durante le sfilate di vittoria.
Il rosso è da sempre simbolo di sangue versato, di violenza, e Gesù, durante il processo dei sommi sacerdoti, si fa Maestro e vincitore nonviolento: «Se ho parlato male, dimostrami dov’è il male; ma se ho parlato bene, perché mi percuoti?» (Gv 18,23)

The heart of holy Easter is not in the blood that Jesus spelt, but in his victory ; it is so a metter of purple, not red.
Purple was the colour of the roman imperiators cloak, weared during the parade of victory.
Red is from ever symbol of spelt blood, of violence, and Jesus, during the trial against the supreme priests, becomes notviolent Master and winner: "If I said something wrong, testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?" (John 18,23)
